Re “Giuliani foes plan to use 9/11 against him,” April 8
Let International Assn. of Fire Fighters President Harold A. Schaitberger do what he does best -- raise money and make those few appearances on the Jerry Lewis telethons. To blame Rudolph W. Giuliani for conduct before or after 9/11 is arrogant, asinine and solely politically motivated.

Anyone who is inclined to vote for Giuliani because of the steely image of him trudging through the smoke and ashes of the Sept. 11 attacks on New York might do better to vote for the video camera operator who recorded that image. He or she trudged through the same smoke and ashes but did it ahead of Giuliani, and all while walking backward.
