Forced-labor suit heading to Japan

From Times Wire Reports
An 86-member group of Chinese survivors of Japan’s wartime forced labor campaign and relatives of others who have died was to go to Tokyo today to file a lawsuit demanding compensation, the group’s lawyer said.
The suit is to be filed in the Tokyo High Court on behalf of 300 Chinese forced laborers or their survivors, lawyer Kang Jiang said.
Relations between China and Japan are strained over Tokyo’s handling of its wartime history, its bid for a permanent U.N. Security Council seat and disputes over undersea oil and gas resources.
