Shake it up, country style

The Southern California country music world took some heavy damage a couple of months ago when the genre’s longtime L.A. radio outlet, KZLA-FM, dropped the traditional twang in favor
of pop-oriented bling. But the music’s audience is still there, and the fans should be out in force for the annual country
music festival that formerly bore the KZLA name. Fittingly, it will be headlined by Nashville maverick Gretchen Wilson, who tops
a bill that features Phil Vassar, Jamie O’Neal, SHeDAISY, Taylor Swift and, perhaps somewhat incongruously, REO Speedwagon.
