Shooting Death Brings Homicide Total to 28

COMPTON
A man was fatally shot on the street early Sunday, bringing the city’s homicides to at least 28 this year, authorities said.
A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesman said the shooting occurred about 6 a.m. in the 1300 block of Schinner Street.
The victim was declared dead at a nearby hospital. No other information was available Sunday.
