Councilman requests analysis of bond deal

Councilman Jack Weiss on Tuesday asked City Administrative Officer Bill Fujioka to analyze a controversial bond deal to pay for the new Police Department headquarters.
The City Council two weeks ago approved a deal that would give most of the work to two California firms.
Fujioka said it would be better to allow several bond firms to competitively bid for the work and that such a competition could save the city millions of dollars.
