Appealing, but quite transparent

INTERESTING article on Jonathan Segal and his work (“Floored by the View,” March 16). However, the photo that included his daughter was a bit inappropriate. Picking a photo with a sexy 17-year-old girl in it for an architectural story may not have been the right choice.
I’m not necessarily a prude, but my wife (32), my sister (30, an architect), her boyfriend (30, also an architect) and I (32) all thought it was a bit, um, odd.

THE photo array confirmed my two worst fears about this beautiful-to-look-at and see-through floor.
No. 1: Wendy Segal, shown washing the glass panels, must have quite the job in the maintenance -- or substantial stock holdings in a glass cleaner company.
No. 2: Brittany Segal, shown moving a sliding glass door, is wearing a lovely dress. I suppose we can only hope that no one is downstairs in that basement looking up.
Short of those two things, it is a wonderfully clever dwelling.
