Sri Lanka attack is indefensible
Re “64 Civilians Killed in Sri Lanka Blasts,†June 16
The abominable human carnage allegedly carried out by the terrorist group Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam should be condemned as a contemptible and heinous crime. Killing innocent mothers and children in a crowded bus in Sri Lanka showed the true face of the separatist movement in this Indian Ocean island republic. The killings had all the hallmarks of the Tamil Tigers, despite their denial. They had denied all other killings, including that of former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. It is said that the killings were done to protest the European Union’s ban on them. Could somebody explain to the world why innocent Sri Lankan children should be killed to protest the EU?
