Coming in with a ‘Big Bang’

“Next Big Bang: The Explosion of Asian American Theater” celebrates Asian American theater, performance art and hip-hop with a showcase of artists from L.A., Honolulu, New York, Chicago, Minneapolis and San Francisco. Monday’s theme is “Memory & Myth,” hosted by D’Lo and Shishir Kurup, with performance works by Gigi Otalvaro-Hormillosa and Lan Tran; “Living in the Dark” by Leilani Chan and Ova Saopeng; “The Songmaker’s Chair” by Albert Wendt; “self (the remix)” by Robert Karimi and sketch comedy from the group OPM.
Tuesday explores “Collision & Expansion,” hosted by Amy Hill and Kristina Wong, with theater pieces “Rise” by Shyamala Moorty, “F.O.P.” by Sean Lim, “House Boy” by Nicky Paraiso, “Sun Mee, You American Girl” by Sun Mee Chomet, and “Kwatz! The Tibetan Project” by Ernest Abuba, plus “Lost Boys” by the hip-hop dance crew SickStep.
