At Least 5 Killed in Military Plane Crash
A military transport plane carrying 40 has crashed in eastern China’s Anhui province, the government said. A local official said at least five people were killed.
The official New China News Agency said the crash was under investigation, according to a military staff member whose name was not given. The staff member did not give any information about casualties, the news agency said.
An official who answered the phone at the Anhui provincial government office said the accident occurred in Anhui’s eastern Guangde county, and that five bodies had been recovered.
Guangde is about 125 miles southwest of Shanghai.
