Property Tax Value Up a Record 23% in ’05

The assessed value of taxable property in Riverside County increased in 2005 by the largest amount ever, jumping nearly $38 billion, or 23%, according to a report by Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder Larry W. Ward submitted Tuesday to the Board of Supervisors.
Beaumont experienced the largest percentage boost in property tax value -- 71% -- for the fourth year in a row, while Riverside had the biggest dollar increase, more than $3 billion.
