Re “Unions, Firms Back Route of O.C. Toll Road,” July 12
My father was a union member for most of his working life, but when he wasn’t on the job our large family went on affordable camping vacations in our beautiful state and to national parks. Public parks are supposed to be a legacy for future generations, not sites for future highways or toll roads.
Polls indicate a majority of voters oppose the construction of a toll road through San Onofre State Beach.
Transportation planners need to go back to the drawing board and figure out alternatives to solve the congestion on Interstate 5 without destroying the state park.
