A young man was shot in the chest late Saturday after an altercation on a Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus, authorities said.
The victim, whose name and age were not immediately available, was listed in stable condition at California Hospital Medical Center, said Lt. Jason Lum of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, which handles crimes aboard MTA buses.
The shooting occurred about 9 p.m. at 48th Street and Broadway. The victim and four other youths had argued before the shooting, Lum said. The suspects fled, and sheriff’s investigators were still searching for them late into the night.
