Pacific 10 Conference
UCLA (10-7, 5-3) vs. USC (12-5, 6-2), Sports Arena, 1 p.m., FSN West, 1540 -- The surging Trojans, winners of four straight, have moved into second place in the Pac-10, half a game behind Stanford. But they go into this game with a key loss. Forward Jamie Funn is out for the rest of the season after undergoing hip surgery Wednesday. UCLA, in fifth place but only a 1 1/2 games out of first, will pit the conference’s second-best offense (74.5 points a game) against USC and its second-best defense (61.4).
MEN
Big West Conference
UC Irvine (9-8, 5-0) at Cal State Fullerton (9-6, 3-3), 2 p.m. -- The Anteaters’ winning streak is at five after defeating UC Riverside, 71-61, Thursday. Fullerton looks to bounce back from a 97-96 overtime loss to Long Beach State.
UC Santa Barbara (7-8, 1-3) at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (4-11, 2-2), 4 p.m. -- Santa Barbara defeated UC Davis, 64-50, Sunday. Cal Poly has lost three straight, including a 65-52 loss to Davis on Jan. 13.
Long Beach State (8-8, 3-2) at UC Riverside (2-14, 2-4), 5, FSN West 2 p.m. -- Long Beach got a much-needed boost by upending Fullerton. Riverside has dropped four of its last five including Thursday’s loss at home to Irvine.
West Coast Conference
St. Mary’s (7-8, 0-3) at Pepperdine (5-11, 1-3), 7 p.m. -- Pepperdine, after its 84-82 loss in overtime at Portland on Monday, is off to its slowest start in the conference since 1996. St. Mary’s narrowly missed its first WCC win Monday, losing to San Francisco, 53-52.
Santa Clara (8-7, 1-2) Loyola Marymount (6-12, 3-1), 7 p.m. -- LMU lost to Gonzaga, 92-80, Monday, after winning three straight. Santa Clara has lost two in a row, including a 75-69 defeat to San Diego on Monday.
