Memorial set for ‘Halloween’ producer

A memorial service will be held Thursday at the Writers Guild in Beverly Hills for Moustapha Akkad, the producer of the “Halloween” horror film series. The 72-year-old filmmaker was killed in a suicide bombing at a hotel in Amman, Jordan, last November.
The service will begin at 10:30 a.m. at 135 S. Doheny Drive. It is open to the public but the family requests an RSVP at (310) 553-5599.
