Capo Unified Trustee Won’t Seek Reelection
Crystal Kochendorfer, an 18-year member of the Capistrano Unified School District Board of Trustees, announced Monday that she would not run for reelection in November.
Kochendorfer, 63, of Dana Point, said she decided not to run because of her parents’ faltering health and the pending arrival of a grandchild. She said the decision had nothing to do with recent controversies within the 50,000-student district, including the unsuccessful recall attempt of all seven trustees and accusations of fiscal mismanagement and other improprieties.
“It’s the right time in my life to make a change because my family needs me now,†she said.
