U.S. Paratrooper, British Soldier Killed

A U.S. paratrooper and a British soldier died in separate attacks.
The American was killed when his patrol came under fire in the eastern province of Khowst, a military statement said. The death brought to 203 the number of U.S. troops killed in and around Afghanistan since late 2001.
In the north, gunmen killed one British soldier and wounded five others, Britain’s Defense Ministry said.
