County OKs Commuter Trains, 101 Widening

Widening of Highway 101 through often-clogged Santa Barbara and the institution of rush-hour commuter trains between Ventura County and Goleta have been approved by a regional agency.
Thursday’s unanimous approval by the 13-member Santa Barbara County Assn. of Governments board represented a compromise between advocates of cars and supporters of mass transit.
