Don’t knock celebrity clout

RE “History: the New Cause Celeb” [Sept. 29]: Oh, for heaven’s sake! The Home section, which most of the time is little more than a print version of “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous,” is now suddenly concerned with the celebrity makeup of the Los Angeles Conservancy?
Even if every single celebrity in the conservancy only cares about meeting Diane Keaton, who cares? At least there’s one person in the organization with money and clout who is dedicated to trying to stop the never-ending slaughter of historical structures in this city. And I suspect that many of the high-profile types in the conservancy have the same concerns.
