Solich Put on Probation After His Conviction
Ohio Coach Frank Solich will be put on probation by the university after his drunk driving conviction.
Athletic Director Kirby Hocutt said at a news conference Tuesday that Solich would publicly address his arrest and conviction and become involved in alcohol education initiatives on campus.

Florida State guard Cornelius Lewis and Florida defensive end Derrick Harvey will miss the first half of their next games after being ejected for fighting in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s game.... Coach Mike Sewak was fired by Georgia Southern, which lost in the first round of the NCAA Division I-AA playoffs for the second year in a row.
Tennessee Coach Phillip Fulmer’s acknowledgment that the 2005 season was “unacceptable†has been put in writing to the fans. Fulmer wrote a 300-word letter that was e-mailed to about 38,000 season ticket holders.... Washington State has granted the release of junior quarterback Josh Swogger, who plans to transfer to a Division I-AA school for his senior season.
