In Sign of Hope for New Orleans, School Reopens
From Times Wire Reports
New Orleans reopened its first public school since Hurricane Katrina swept through the city.
Benjamin Franklin Elementary School, in the little-damaged Uptown area of New Orleans, is accepting 500 students.
“Reopening New Orleans public schools is vital to revitalizing New Orleans as a city,†said school Principal Christine Mitchell.
