Weekend box office
It was a big weekend for Imax as the giant-screen “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire†added another $1.8 million in 66 theaters Friday through Sunday, bringing its total to $6.9 million. That amounts to about 3.4% of the $201-million domestic tally for “Goblet,†which has taken in an additional $209 million in foreign markets. The Imax 3-D version of “The Polar Express,†meanwhile, returned to those 66 theaters for a special holiday engagement and took in about $1.2 million. The company said Monday that the total for the two films last weekend was a record for Imax.
