Man, 59, Found Dead at Scene of Car Crash

The body of a 59-year-old man was recovered Tuesday from the scene of a two-car crash near Castaic Lake, officials said.
The man was identified by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office as Thomas Essington of Elizabeth Lake, near Lancaster.
Authorities said Los Angeles County firefighters found two cars at the bottom of a 200-foot embankment in the 33100 block of North Lake Hughes Road about 2:20 p.m.
The body of a dog was also recovered from the crash site, they said.
