From Times Staff and Wire Reports
A drunk driver was sentenced to three 15-years-to-life prison terms by a judge who said the crash that killed a couple and their unborn daughter was not an accident.
On Dec. 4, 2003, Shavougue Antoine Mason ran a stop sign and slammed into a BMW, killing Rene Porras, 25, and Rosalinda Gonzalez, 25. The couple had three children. “It’s very clear that it was not an accident,” Superior Court Judge Wendy C. Duffy told the defendant. “You made the choice to drink and drive.”
