Duncan May Not Return Until Playoffs

San Antonio Spur forward Tim Duncan will be sidelined at least two weeks because of a sprained right ankle and could miss the rest of the regular season.
The Spurs put the two-time NBA most valuable player on the injured list Monday and later lost, 88-75, to the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
Duncan -- the Spurs’ leading scorer, rebounder and shot blocker -- was hurt in the opening minutes of Sunday’s loss to Detroit after landing on Rasheed Wallace’s foot. Duncan missed two games earlier this month because of a right ankle sprain.
“It’s the same ankle he hurt previously, and he really did a number on this one,” Coach Gregg Popovich said. “It’s not broken, but he can’t walk on it or anything right now. Two week minimum, I’m sure.”
San Antonio (50-17) fell percentage points behind Phoenix (49-16) for the best record in the Western Conference Monday and is contending with the Suns and Miami Heat for the best record in the league.
Former Spur Malik Rose made a pair of 18-footers to complete a game-breaking 14-0 run to start the fourth quarter for the Knicks. Rose led New York with 18 points.
Charlotte 102, Orlando 97 -- Brevin Knight made a running jumper with 12.4 seconds to play at Charlotte, N.C., to help the Bobcats overcome a 16-point first-half deficit and end their 10-game losing streak. Knight had 19 points.
Chicago 105, Atlanta 91 -- After missing three games because of a bad hamstring, Eddy Curry had 24 points in the Bulls’ victory at Chicago.
Dallas 103, New Orleans 86 -- Dirk Nowitzki had 25 points and rookie Devin Harris added a season-high 17 points at Dallas.
