One Firefighter in Sex Scandal Resigns

Allegations that four on-duty Sacramento firefighters had group sex in a firehouse continue to rock the department, with the city announcing the resignation of one firefighter and an investigation into three others.
Liz Brenner, a city spokeswoman, said the city sent “letters of intent to terminate” Monday to three firefighters, meaning that the city had launched an investigation into the incident at Fire Station 12.
The three male firefighters have been placed on paid administrative leave pending the investigation’s final report, she said. The sole female alleged to have participated in the incident resigned Monday.
The city began its investigation Jan. 21.
The allegation was one of a string of incidents involving the city’s firefighters over the last 12 months. Firefighters have been disciplined for drinking on the job and giving women joyrides.
