A Slurpee and a wrap, to go please
For most of us, 7-Eleven’s the place where you stand in line to buy a Slurpee and try to guess which month those hot dogs were put on the grill. It’s probably not your first, second or even 10th choice for lunch.
Maybe that’s about to change. In a cooler in the back called “Big Eats,†they’ve introduced a new line of wraps. How does a $3.69 turkey wrap with fire-roasted corn and black beans in a blue- corn tortilla sound? Or what about chicken, veggies and “southwest mustard†wrapped in a spinach tortilla for $3.89? Best yet, there’s a freshness stamp on the front of each wrap, so you know they were prepared within 48 hours of your purchase.

7-Eleven’s Turkey and Chicken Wraps
Taste
For only a buck or two more, practically any sandwich shop will make you a bigger, fresher and tastier wrap, but that might take a few minutes, and your time is precious. For a pre-made 7-Eleven meal, though, these wraps are better than expected.
*
Diet Watch
According to the packages, the turkey wrap has only 240 calories and the chicken a mere 220, but they also claim the wraps are two servings. Two servings? As if you’re going to eat half a wrap for lunch and keep the other half sitting in your car for dinner?
*
Portability
Unique packaging allows the wrap to conveniently fit in your car’s cup holder. It works great, but now where do you put your cup?
*
Hype-o-meter
Sure, these wraps could be better, but this is 7-Eleven we’re talking about. Simply offering a relatively fresh, relatively cheap, moderately healthy meal is a long-needed step in the right direction.
