Holy Bat Shadow!
I don’t mind ads at the bottom of the sports page. Much of my income is based on crass commercialization of products. But you don’t superimpose a shadow of a (non-baseball) bat over the box scores. What bonehead thought of this? It shows a complete lack of understanding of the psyche of the sports fan. The box scores are sacred to a baseball fan. That’s why we read them and that’s why you put them there in the first place and that’s why you can charge a fortune to run ads beneath them.
You don’t put a Macy’s lingerie ad at the bottom of a page in Section A, then superimpose the shadow of a bra over a picture of the pope, and you don’t put a shadow of a bat over the box scores. I shouldn’t have to explain this to you morons.

Would you even contemplate running the same kind of ad across a news story?
