Wales: Beach resort
Escape Boutique B&B;, 48 Church Walks, Llandudno; 011-441-492-877-776, www.escapebandb.co.uk. “I haven’t left Wales yet, but I felt I must send you an amazing find in the town of Llandudno. First off, Llandudno is a magical place, fairly undiscovered by tourists. It is an old Victorian beach resort with a beautiful crescent beach and pastel hotels lining the way across from the sea. Escape Boutique B&B; is one of the best B&Bs; I have ever been in, with crisp Egyptian cotton sheets, plasma TVs and welcoming hospitality of the owners. It is a not-to-be-missed experience.†Double rooms from $130.

It’s a small and spotless B&B; with remodeled rooms and baths. It is right on the quay overlooking the harbor. Fantastic continental breakfast, friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble, and they have a five-star restaurant below.†Double rooms from $157; set three-course dinner, $75.

A Propos offers fresh fish and meats, accompanied by crispy vegetables deliciously grilled in the main dining room right in front of you. The service was excellent and the prices very reasonable.†Dinner from about $16.
