* Matt Kerekes, West Torrance: The sophomore guard scored a career-high 41 points in a 78-66 victory over Chula Vista Otay Ranch at the Southern California Coaches’ Challenge at Carlsbad.
* Taylor King, Santa Ana Mater Dei: Made a career-high eight three-point shots and finished with 38 points in a 96-86 intersectional victory over Carlsbad La Costa Canyon, which was led by Chase Budinger’s 51 points.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
* Lenita Sanford, Lynwood: Made two free throws in the final minute to finish with 16 points for the No. 6 Knights in a 53-52 victory over No. 19 Harbor City Narbonne.
* Kali Bennett, Ventura: Finished with 22 points, 16 rebounds and 10 blocked shots in a 48-37 nonleague victory over Mission Hills Alemany.
* Nikki Sisto, North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake: Finished with 22 points and 16 rebounds in a 54-51 intersectional victory over Sylmar.

* Kat Plummer, Thousand Oaks: Had five goals in a 7-2 semifinal victory over Ventura Buena and two goals in a 5-4 championship-game win over Lompoc Cabrillo to earn Oxnard Pacifica tournament most valuable player.
