From Times Wire Reports
The Manteca Unified School District plans to equip its bus fleet with digital surveillance cameras and recorders.
The school district placed cameras in 10 buses in 2001 to see if they would help reduce fights, graffiti and other student mischief.
The cameras have allowed bus drivers to focus more on the road and less on what’s going on in the back of the bus.
A number of school districts in the state have cameras on school buses.
