‘Over There’ loses viewers
In its second week, “Over There,” FX’s high-profile drama about soldiers in Iraq, lost an unusually high 41% of its audience, falling from 4.1 million to 2.4 million viewers.
Most of the lost viewers were older than 50, said John Solberg, senior vice president of public relations for the basic cable network. But 35% were in the prime 18- to 49-year-old demographic prized by most advertisers.
Solberg said it was too soon to draw conclusions. “Sure there’s a level of disappointment; it’s such a great show,” he said. Of 66 reviews collected by the network, 54 were outstanding or good, he said. The show had received a mixed reaction from military viewers.
