But where are the ballrooms?
Re “Dancing Isn’t Just for Stars” (Aug. 4): How do you ballroom dance to rap and hard rock? Doesn’t ballroom dancing require music? Does this mean they may bring back music too?
I’m not sure I’m ready for this. Every gentle, loving feeling I have has been buried so long, I may not be able to stand the shock. It would be nice to hear the music of Richard Rodgers and Irving Berlin again. If bringing back ballroom dancing doesn’t pan out, I still have the melodies locked in my heart.

Your feature article on ballroom dancing forgot those of us on the Westside. Arthur Murray Beverly Hills, the country’s flagship Arthur Murray dance studio, is not only where the stars learn to dance but also where we regular Westside folks take lessons in everything from foxtrot to tango. And how about a follow-up article on where to go once you’ve learned the moves? Ever since Merv Griffin’s Coconut Club at the Beverly Hilton closed, it’s been hard to find a good ballroom.
