3 X Abstraction: New Methods of Drawing: Depending on your state of mind, this show could either slide you into a trance or jolt you into all-points wakefulness. It’s less about external form than internal processes and invisible forces -- physical, emotional, spiritual, cosmic. For all three artists, visual abstraction corresponded naturally to abstract ideas of transcendence (Hilma af Klint), spiritual evolution (Emma Kunz) or perfection and stillness (Agnes Martin). The show is full of nourishment, none of it spoon-fed. The less optically gene-
rous the work, the more our own internal resources have to kick in.
