Mariachi and an ocean view
The effervescent rhythms coaxed from violins, guitars, harps, brass horns and the Mexican
vihuela will be celebrated at the Mariachi Beach
Fiesta. The event -- the first and hoped to be annual -- will feature the
all-female Mariachi Las Adelitas de Jose Luis
Salinas, plus Orange County’s Mariachi Anacatlan and Ventura County’s Mariachi Camarillo. Also on tap: food, artisans, dancing and DJ Javi playing the latest in Latino music.
Mariachi Beach Fiesta, Oceanview Pavilion, 575 E. Surfside Drive, Port Hueneme. Concert, 3 to 6 p.m.; dance, 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday. $5-$10. (805) 660-1742.
