Everything came in twos for the Crescenta Valley baseball team Friday night.

Trevor Bell threw a two-hitter and the Falcons, ranked No. 25 in the Southland by The Times, had five hits -- all doubles -- in a 3-0 Pacific League victory over Arcadia at Stengel Field in Glendale.

Bell (6-2) retired the last 10 batters to finish off Arcadia (17-4, 8-2). He walked one, hit a batter and struck out seven to earn his first shutout of the season for the Falcons (18-2, 9-1). “My arm felt good today,†he said.

Roy Lee doubled to lead off the second inning and scored on a ground-ball double play, and Chris Johnson doubled to lead off the fifth and scored on a two-run double by Chad Nacapoy.

Football

The Southern Section has agreed to a three-year contract to hold three of its section championships -- Divisions I and II as well as another to be determined -- at the Home Depot Center beginning this fall.

Softball

Twelve of the 16 teams that make up the field for the Thousand Oaks tournament are ranked in The Times’ top 25. Tournament play begins with the first two rounds today at the high school and next door at the community center and concludes May 7.

Santa Ana Mater Dei defeated Riverside Poly, 3-1, in last season’s final. Poly, ranked No. 25, opens with No. 12 Thousand Oaks at 10 a.m.

Top Performers

* Kaitlin Cochran, Fullerton Rosary: Her first home run of the season came in the bottom of the 10th inning to provide the No. 8 Royals with the Serra League game’s only run in a victory over No. 6 Santa Ana Mater Dei.

* Ryan Delgado, La Verne Damien: His two-run homer in the ninth inning gave the Spartans a 9-7 win over No. 15 Chino and forged a three-way tie atop the Sierra League with Diamond Bar at 7-4. Chino’s Steven Pick had two homers and five RBIs.

* Joe Zeller and Steve Rodriguez, Mission Viejo Capistrano Valley: Zeller had a one-out, run-scoring double and Rodriguez followed with an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the No. 8 Cougars a 2-1 victory over Mission Viejo Trabuco Hills and first place in the South Coast League.
