Group Cancels Plans for Immigration Action
A Riverside-based group has canceled plans to block border traffic between Douglas, Ariz., and Agua Prieta, Mexico, on Sunday so it can redirect its efforts to California, said a National Alliance for Human Rights spokeswoman.
The group had announced April 20 that it intended to station volunteers in Mexico who would ask Mexican drivers not to enter the U.S. The event was scheduled to protest the Minuteman Project and show the interdependent nature of cross-border cities.
The Minuteman Project sought to combat illegal immigration.
National Alliance members plan to travel to Arizona today for a rally.
