Two to Stand Trial in Slaying of 14-Year-Old
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge Friday ordered two South Los Angeles men to stand trial on charges that they killed a 14-year-old boy last year.
David Michael Porter, 19, and Fred Douglas Brown, 20, are accused of shooting Byron Lee as he rode his bike near his home Oct. 9. Byron pleaded for his life before he was shot 19 more times, officials said.
Brown and Porter are also slated to stand trial on two unrelated charges of attempted murder.
Judge David Sotelo set the defendants’ arraignment for May 17.
