Likely Presidential Candidate Wounded
From Times Wire Reports
Attackers shot and wounded Kyrgyz lawmaker Bayaman Erkinbayev, a key figure in protests that led to the overthrow of the former regime, police said.
Erkinbayev, who spoke to reporters with almost half his face covered by a bandage, alleged the attack late Thursday was linked to his plan to run for president in July. A bullet hit his nose when he was leaving a movie studio.
Kyrgyz police opened an investigation.
