Bragg Gets a Bit Closer to Record

Senior receiver Craig Bragg had five catches for 48 yards in UCLA’s 21-0 victory over Stanford on Saturday, moving him within four receptions of tying the school record for career receptions with 175.

After being sidelined for three games because of a shoulder injury and slowly working himself back into the offense, Bragg said the record is not a high priority.

UCLA football coach -- In the UCLA Report in Sunday’s Sports section, Bruin defensive coordinator Larry Kerr was misidentified as Steve Kerr.

“I guess I will start to think about it late in the week but it’s not a big thing for me right now,†Bragg said.

“If it happens, it happens. Everyone keeps asking me about it, but it’s more important for the team to win than for me to get any type of record.â€

Defensive coordinator Steve Kerr on watching the game from the coaches’ box instead of the sideline: “They put a bungee cord on me so that I didn’t jump out of the box. That’s the one thing I said that I had to have in order for me to go up there. I think it worked well and I will probably be up there again.â€

Linebacker Danny Nelson suffered a broken left clavicle in the second quarter and will be sidelined at least six weeks.
