BOYS’ WATER POLO
* Matt Sagehorn, Long Beach Wilson: Had five goals for the Bruins, No. 1 in the Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll, in a 9-8 victory over No. 6 Newport Harbor in a championship quarterfinal at the TruWest Memorial Cup tournament in San Jose. Sagehorn also had five goals in a first-round, 14-5 victory over Davis.
* J.W. Krumpholz, Santa Ana Foothill: Had three goals for the Knights, No. 2 in Division I, in a 10-7 victory over Atherton Menlo in a championship quarterfinal at the TruWest tournament. Krumpholz had seven goals in a first-round, 12-5 victory over Clovis.
* D.J. Armitage, Los Angeles Loyola: Had 12 saves in a 16-11 victory over Chino Hills Ayala, No. 5 in Division V, and 11 saves and four steals in a 13-8 victory over Whittier, No. 6 in Division III, during pool play at the North Orange County II tournament.
* Brian Gross, Agoura: Had three goals and two steals for the visiting Chargers, No. 4 in Division VI, in an 8-4 Marmonte League victory over No. 7 Westlake Village Westlake.
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL
* Annie Hiller, La Canada: Had 11 kills for host Spartans, No. 8 in Division III-AA, in a 25-15, 25-11, 25-7 Rio Hondo League victory over Temple City.
* Megan Burch, Riverside Christian: Had 15 kills for Cougars, No. 10 in Division IV-A, in a 26-24, 25-14, 25-15 Metro League victory over Wildomar Cal Lutheran.
GIRLS’ TENNIS
* Jocelyn Liu and Katie Moore, Los Alamitos: Won two of three sets at No. 2 doubles for the host Griffins, tied at No. 10 in Division II, in an 11-7 Sunset League upset of No. 7 Huntington Beach. Los Alamitos clinched at least a share of the league title for the 19th time in 20 seasons.
* Gabby Gomez, Lynwood: Swept at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-1, 6-0, in a 16-2 San Gabriel Valley League victory at Downey, which clinched the Knights’ seventh consecutive league title.
* Stella Su and Carla Yee, Sierra Madre Maranatha: Won their three sets in a 10-8 victory over Anaheim Connelly, giving the Minutemen their ninth victory in a row and their first Alpha League title.
* Ashley Williams, Irvine Woodbridge: Swept, 6-1, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 1 singles in an 11-7 victory over Newport Harbor, giving the host Warriors their fourth Sea View League title in five years.
