4 Dead, 17 Injured in Rare Religious Riots

At least four people died and 17 were injured in rare religious riots in Liberia’s capital, Monrovia, before United Nations troops quelled mobs. A curfew was imposed and 168 people arrested.
Witnesses said a dispute between Muslim and Christian residents near the suburb of Paynesville had escalated into a full-scale riot and then spread to the center of the city.
