Suspect in Snake Theft Pleads Not Guilty
From Times Staff Reports
Jeffery Quon pleaded not guilty Monday to charges that he burglarized an Anaheim Hills home and took $75,000 worth of pythons. He is charged with suspicion of burglary and possession of stolen property and is free on $50,000 bail.
Jeff Houston, who owns more than 100 snakes, told police that 14 reptiles were stolen from his house. He engineered a sting where an undercover officer posing as a buyer met with Quon to purchase one of Houston’s pythons, authorities said. Eight of the stolen snakes have been recovered.
