A man was shot and killed late Monday in San Juan Capistrano in what authorities say was an accidental shooting. The identity of the victim, in his 20s and a citizen of Mexico, was withheld pending notification of relatives.
Authorities were called about 10 p.m. to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo, where the man was taken with a gunshot wound to his torso. He was pronounced dead an hour later.
A suspect was being cooperative, said Sheriff’s Department spokesman Jon Fleischmann. The relationship between the two was not disclosed.
