Riverside County Official Appointed

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger named Riverside County welfare chief Dennis J. Boyle director of the state Department of Social Services on Tuesday.
Boyle, 58, has served as the director of the county Department of Public Social Services for more than eight years, managing almost 3,000 staffers and a nearly $500-million budget.
“We’re disappointed to see Dennis leave but proud that the governor recognized the talents of such an outstanding leader,” said Roy Wilson, chairman of the county Board of Supervisors. “Our county is a better place because of his vision.”
