A Spanish investigating judge issued a European warrant for the arrest of a key suspect in the March 11 train attacks, an Algerian man whose fingerprints were found on a bag linked to the bombers. He is wanted in connection with 190 killings, terrorist acts and for belonging to a terrorist organization, according to the warrant.
Police identified Ouhnane Daoud, 34, as a suspect last week when they matched his prints to those on a plastic bag containing seven detonators. The bag was found in a van at the station where the attackers were thought to have boarded the four trains they targeted.
