Bear captured -- An article in Wednesday’s California section about a bear in Agoura Hills said there are up to a few dozen bears in the Santa Monica Mountains. It is unlikely there are any bears living in the Santa Monicas and, if there are, they number no more than a handful, according to Fish and Game wildlife biologist Doug Updike. He said the animal probably came from the Santa Susana Mountains area. It was taken to Los Padres National Forest for release, not the Santa Monica Mountains.
