More than 1,100 homes and businesses in Northridge lost electrical power Monday night, according to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.

The outage occurred near the intersection of Parthenia Street and Lindley Avenue about 9 p.m., said DWP spokeswoman Marie Lemelle. She said the utility expected to restore electricity by about 1 a.m.

The DWP had not determined what caused the outage.
