Man Dies in Crash Near Oak View; Driver Is Arrested
One person was killed and two others injured when their truck veered off the southbound lanes of Highway 33 near Oak View and rolled several times, authorities said Saturday.
Ronald Riley, 41, of Bakersfield was ejected from the vehicle in the accident, which occurred just north of Santa Ana Boulevard about 9:15 p.m. Friday, according to the California Highway Patrol. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another passenger, Thomas Wilson, 53, also of Bakersfield, suffered major injuries to his arms, wrists and ankles and was taken to Ojai Valley Hospital.
The driver, Turley Vaught, 52, of Ventura suffered minor cuts and was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and gross vehicular manslaughter, authorities said.
