He Could Be The One, who has been first or second in his last five starts, heads a field of five in tonight’s $26,350 Dillingham Handicap at 400 yards.
Owned and bred by Double Bar S Ranch and trained by Paul Jones, He Could Be The One, a 3-year-old First Down Dash gelding, has won his last two, and three races overall in a career that began with four consecutive defeats last year.
Successful at 300, 350 and 550 yards, He Could Be The One will be trying the Dillingham distance for the first time. He will leave from the rail under regular rider Ramon Sanchez.
Jones also will saddle Ze Eye, a three-time winner who, in his last start, was fourth at 56-1 in the Los Alamitos Winter Derby on Feb. 27. Hector Cuevas will ride the 3-year-old.
