Diverted Private Jet Lands Safely at LAX
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
A private jet bound for John Wayne Airport with 15 people aboard made an emergency landing at Los Angeles International on Tuesday after the nose wheel failed to deploy, authorities said. No one was injured.
Sparks flew from the front of the three-engine aircraft as it came to a stop, but there was no fire.
The jet, which departed from Phoenix, was diverted when the pilot reported concern, said Harold Johnson, Los Angeles World Airports spokesman.
The passengers exited quickly and were bused away.
